The Export Block is available in Astroid to allow for saving patient and plan information in DICOM file format. Typically this feature is used once a plan has been completed, the physician has approved the plan, and the plan is ready to be sent to the Record and Verify system for QA and then patient treatment. The process of exporting files and the options available to the user are described below.

• Open the Export block.
• If the plan is unpublished (unapproved), then a qualified person must authorize the export of this plan by checking the appropriate check box in order to perform the export
• The user can choose from the following items to export:
  • RT Structure Set
  • RT Ion Plan
  • RT Dose
    • Plan (total dose for all fraction groups and all sessions)
    • Fraction Group (dose for all sessions of a single fraction group; each fraction group is exported to its own file)
    • Beam (dose for a single session from a single beam; each beam is exported to its own file)
• The export location is then set as either a local directory or to a DICOM server (AE title)
  • If exporting locally the choice to anonymize the data can be made by checking the Anonymize patient data box option as shown

• When exporting to a DICOM Server, several options are available
  • Preset AE Titles which are managed through the Site Configuration can be selected or the custom option is available in which a specific server name, location, and communication port ID will need to be specified
